ZoloWear's Hiring: Office and Shipping Assistant

This is a full-time position for a mature, nurturing, intelligent person with great attention to detail. Location is Austin, Texas.

GENERAL FUNCTION
The Office Assistant keeps the office running smoothly, including answering phones, assisting customers via phone and e-mail, counting inventory, and shipping our products daily.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Answers phones during business hours. Assists customers with shipping questions via phone and e-mail.
Handles daily shipping efficiently, including entering sales into QuickBooks, printing receipts, picking and packing orders, and ensuring that packages are ready when mail carrier arrives mid-afternoon.
Counts inventory and updates web site and QuickBooks. QuickBooks experience not required.
Coordinates flow of product from manufacturing to quality control to inventory to customer.
Processes exchanges and returns, including some ironing.
Maintains a neat and organized workspace.
Other tasks as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Casual professional. This is a physical job, so a pulled-together jeans outfit is OK.
Children are sometimes present in the office.
Office is located in South Austin, off Ben White between First and Congress.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Full time, 40 hours/week, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, M-F
Regular attendance is non-negotiable. Regular absences or tardiness WILL result in dismissal.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:
Dependable, reliable, prompt.
Attention to detail. This job requires a highly organized person who thrives on order.
Able to frequently lift heavy boxes up to 50 pounds. Must be willing and able to iron on occasion.
Computer skills: Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with QuickBooks or data entry a plus, but not required.
Communication skills: Reads, writes and speaks in fluent English, using appropriate grammar, style and vocabulary. Correctly spells commonly used English words.
Decision-making ability: Must be able to make decisions once trained. Solves problems without needing to consult supervisor.
Working with children: Must be willing to work around young children and their toys and noise. Must be comfortable around breastfeeding and hormonal new mothers.
Tolerance for Stress: We are a small, growing business with a lean staff. We have a fun, friendly office, but we take our babywearing business seriously. Sometimes it can be stressful.
Flexibility: Open to performing whatever tasks need to be performed that day or week.
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
